Well Done!

Just recently while watching TV, I came across the movie, “Saving Private Ryan”. After having seen it in part on other occasions, I had the opportunity to see it in full this time, while on vacation in sunny southern California I might add, sweet! but I digress. I noticed something in the movie I had not before. At the very end of the movie as the now aged Private Ryan stood in a national cemetery with his family, for he had gone to visit the grave sites of those he had fought with, especially the site of the Captain that Tom Hanks had played. He reminisced on what Tom Hanks had told him as he was dying, he said, “earn this”. I took this to mean, don’t let the death of those that came to take you home be in vain. As the aged Private Ryan stood, his wife walked up to him. He turned and asked her, ” Have I done well”, and once again I took this to mean, have I lived my life in a way that is worthy of my fallen comrades? During those D-Day battles, I can only imagine the death and carnage that took place, and as graphic a movie as Saving Private Ryan was, it probably pales to what really took place. That leads me to the question I would like to ask us, ” Have we done well”? For the Christian, this life is also filled with death and carnage. Most of the tine it is in more of a spiritual manner. The warfare that takes place in the heavens, often times with the saints of God right in the middle of them, can leave fields of destruction in the physical realm. God puts it on the hearts of other Christians to pray for their brothers and sisters that  are caught up in these wars, our lives depend on those prayers. It’s like the solders that were sent out to bring Private Ryan back, the prayers go out to God to rescue and bring back saints safely. So how do we live our lives after the saints have prayed and God has come to the rescue? Have we done well? Are we living our lives so when the time comes we will hear the words form God, “Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord”? I pray so. We don’t want the prayers of the Saints that have gone on before us to be in vain. And ultimately lets not be any more guilty of the blood of Jesus than we already have been. Let us live our lives well.

Proverbs 3:3-4

God Loves

God loves His creation with an everlasting love. In His love for us God has set boundaries that we should not breach. The only way for them to be breached is through the decisions we make, freely. Everything God created was good, and when He created mankind He said that he was very good, Genesis 1:26-31. This very good was, (perfect), and still is. We choose to taint the perfection. The DNA of the male and female defines what they are. This is God’s seal of perfection on His creation. Mankind can only try to duplicate it, but he can never make it better. When the LGBT community says they where born the way they are they are saying God has created another species of mankind that is not recorded in the Hoy Scriptures. Or maybe they believe in their case God made a mistake, but no, we know they do not believe they are mistakes. Maybe they believe God made an exception for them at the time of their conception from their mother and father, this also is not so. It’s unfortunate that something has taken place in the life of these individuals, in their very early years, or maybe in their later years, that has caused them to make their choice of life style. The lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender life styles are chooses made by the individual that breach the boundaries of God. God has made a way for these breaches to be healed, just as He has for all sin; pornography, bestiality, pedophilia, racism, drunkenness, thievery, adultery, idolatry, witchcraft, necromancy, and the like, the list goes on. In the old and new testaments of the Holy Bible, God has set the boundaries for our living according to His love for us, and they have not and will not change. God is the same always, Hebrews 13:8. And for those who would try to separate God from Jesus, it cannot be done. God said, “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased”, Luke 9:35.  Jesus said, “I and The Father are one”. John 10:30.

Because of God’s great love for us he has sent those who will tell His truth to them who will choose to breach His boundaries. We also have breached His boundaries at one time, but have determined to repent and be healed. To repent you must first admit you have sin. I had to admit I had sin, I John 1:8-10. Whether you are involved in the LGBT life styles or any of the other sinful life styles, God has sent His Son to redeem you from your sins.

I and those who have admitted our sin and been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ, will not be ashamed to continue loving all of God’s creation they way we are supposed to. We are the “Repairers of the Breach” talked about in Isaiah 58:12. Our obedience to God, and the love for His Son Jesus compel us to pray in love for those who have made the decisions to breach the boundaries He has set. Our nation and the generations to come depend on the prayers of the righteous. If you want your prayers to be heard by God, but you have breached the boundaries set by Him, repent of your sins, receive His forgiveness. God loves us, but He haters our sin.

John 3:16-21, and Isaiah 58:1-14

Greedy Dogs!

“Greedy Dogs” is what God calls the blind watchmen of Israel in the book of Isaiah. The church is in distress because of these greedy dogs. Let’s see what the Word of God says about them. Isaiah 56:8-12,
8. “The Lord God which gathereth the outcast of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him.
9. All ye beast of the field, come to devour, yea, all ye beast in the forest.
10. His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
11. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.
12. Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and tomorrow will be as this day, and much more abundant”.
God had made a promise to the nation of Israel, that was not a respect of persons. Read the first seven verses of this same chapter. God included all, even those who felt unworthy. And also the stranger that joined themselves to the Israelites under the covenant of God. Then God calls the greedy dogs, “beast of the field”, because that’s what they act like. They come to devour everything around them, they are greedy and selfish, and take advantage of them who are weak, and those who are weak and yet think they are strong. This prey is ignorant of the word of God just as the greedy dogs are ignorant of the judgment of God they are bringing on themselves.
And here we are today, in 2013, these men, and in some cases women, are looting the church for personal gain. They have no real love for God, for if they did, they would not have the contempt for His people that they do. There is nothing wrong with being rich, it’s the motive behind the wealth, and getting it, that can be a detriment to the one possessing it. These greedy dogs covet the wealth of others and will stop at almost nothing to get it. They become like the world in there hearts, and disregard the commandments of God to love His people and care for them. Yes, the workman is worthy of his hire, but these greedy dogs go far above this hire.
In I Timothy 6:7-12, the Apostle Paul warns the young minister Timothy of the love of money:
7. “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8. And having food and raiment, let us be therewith content.
9. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lust, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11. But thou, O man of God flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold an eternal life, whereunto thou are also called, and has professed a good profession before many witnesses.
Some of these greedy dogs feel it is necessary to go on national TV and flaunt their foolishness before a nation that already does not take the church seriously. To the world the church has become full of hypocrites, thieves, whoremongers, homosexuals, liars and on and on.
Clarence McClendon, Ron Gibson, Noel Jones, Dietrich Haddon, Wayne Chaney, and Jay Haizlip, are just the latest to go on reality TV in the fall of this year, according to an article in the Christian Post, to bring more shame to the church that Jesus Christ died for. They think it is important to keep up with the world when it comes to possessions. They are no longer meek in their hearts, but ravenous wolves, beasts of the field, and reprobate in their spiritual understanding. They have become friends with the world and enemies to God.
These men need much prayer, and someone to tell them the truth. They may not agree, or even listen, but they must be given the opportunity to repent of there evil ways, after that it truly is between them and God.

I Timothy 6:10

What Hatred!

ISAIAH 14:12-15
12. How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13. For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

What hatred? What you just read was the begining of true hatred. Satan had determined that He would exalt himself above his creator, God. This tragic mistake on his behalf literaly caused him his eternal life in heaven. Proverbs 16:18 “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall”. And how great the fall of Satan.
After being lifted up in himself, and then being brought down by God, and having no way of repenting and regaining His place in heaven, Satan now has an unequaled hatred for God, and anyone who would love and obey Him. This obesience is what Satan wanted for himself, and only received it from that third of the fallen angels that were cast out with Him. II Peter 2:4, “For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved into judgement;”. Revelation 12:9, “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him”. These fallen angles also have an hatred for God that causes them to defy His soverign rule.
So now for Satan and these fallen angles, what better way to show thier hatred for God than to attack, destroy, and pervert everything that God has created. Remember Satan has not created anything in heaven or earth. The only way he can seem to create something, is by taking that that God has created an changing it into something that it is not ment to be. Besides attacking humanity, men and women, who God has created in His image, he wants to attack them from within the fellowship of the Saints, the Church.
Satan’s hatred for God is unequaled, and it is this same hateful spirit that drives humanity to rebell against Him, God. To the unsaved, the heathen, the pagan, their refusal to receive His grace and Mercy through his son Jesus is in itself the same act that caused Satans demise. The great blessing for those in this time is that they still have an opportunity to be saved from that judgement that Satan and the fallen angles can not escape.
As for the church, when it brings in the sinful ways of the world to entice people to join, for other false motives, or to be politically correct and appease those who may have attacked them, then the church must remember, that is exactly what Satan wants to do, that is to change the church from what it is suppose to be. God is Holy, and expects His church to be Holy, I Peter 1:15&16; “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy”. This “conversation” means, in all ways of life. Satan cannot be holy so the only thing He can do is pervert what God has made to be holy. Homosexuality in the church perverts the church, unless those that are there, are there for the purpose of being delivered from it. The act of a man lying with a man, and a woman with a woman is an abomination unto God, and that will never change. He will turn His face away from that person unless they are there seeking Him for deliverance. There cannot truly be a Pastor or Minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ that denies God’s ability to deliver both him and the other from their sin. And then encourages them to continue in their sin without of the fear of judgment. Homosexual churches are a perversion of what God has made to be holy.
Racially divided churches are no better. I as a Black man, I should be able to go into any church that preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ, no matter the racial make up, and be welcomed. The Reverend Wrights, and the KKK Grand Dragons of society that profess to be godly men are perversions in the church. They bring hatred and division into society. This division and hatred is perversion. God is not a respect of persons.
In both of this cases it is the hatred Satan has for God, and those that follow Him, that allows him to deceive those in the church that are performing these acts into believing they are doing what is right.
In order to see beyond the deception, and recognize the perversions, we most first understand the great hatred Satan has for God. As previously stated, it is unequaled. The hatred is deep, dark, ugly, nasty, vindictive, and if it had a scent, of a foul stench that lingers. This hatred from Satan is such, that not even if it were possible, the death of God would be enough. He would have to do away with you and me also, and everything that God hath created of things in heaven, and things in the earth, and things under the earth. This leads me to believe that the hatred Satan has even extends to himself. What Hatred!

Revelation 21:7-8

It’s Often Said

It’s often said, that Christians are the most intolerant people around. While radical Islam, or the hard-core Islamist, go about their business of bombing, running airplanes into buildings, killing their own children for what they persive to be the loss family honor, and on and on, we Christian are said to be the cause of so much hate and discontent in our society.
We are called homophobic, mean-spirited, hypocritical, narrow-minded, and many other names, some of which I am sure I can not repeat nor would I because that type of filth is not in my heart, but I digress. It must be a part of the Christian character that these names do not move us into submission. I myself will not allow the name calling, due to the ignorance of those doing the name calling, stop me from The Great Commission, you can find it in, Matthew 28:18-20. And remember ignorance is not name calling, it is a lack of knowledge. Many just do not know or understand the life of a true Christian. Without knowing the individual, people attack the body of Christ, the Christian faith, as a whole. This in itself is not fair, and shows a lack of tolerance on behalf of many in society towards the Christian faith.
It is true that there are many bad examples in the church amongst clergy and laity, and even more so in this era of the “New Age Religion”. The church has succumbed to the attacks and is trying to be a more society friendly, politically correct church. We the church have forgotten that the very nature of our faith is society friendly. A true friend always tells the truth, and this is what is unwanted in society, the truth.
Phinehas’s actions based on todays mentality, aside from the fact that he would have been charged with a double homicide, would have been considered over the top, an unnecessary judgement, an “it don’t take all of that” action. Well, it may seem like that to some, and even some in the church that are afraid to take a stand against unrighteousness, that is, that which is antagonistic against the righteousness of God.
Herein lies the question I will leave with you. If Phinehas’s action seemed over the top, extreme, even fanatical, and this being both to the Hebrew children, Zimri, and the heathen nation, Cozbi, why then was God pleased with Phinehas to the point of making a Covenant of everlasting peace with him and his family to come?
Interesting is’n it? We may not be able to run sinners through with javelins, whether they are saved or unsaved, but the zeal we have to use the word of God in His defense must be the same.
Hebrews 4:12 states, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Remember, God loves the person but he hates the sin. He is not a respect of persons. His word comes to all that will receive it.

I Peter 4:17

Whats in a Word?

This is a list of words with their definitions that are in the Bible.I don,t understand how they are not understood to mean how they are defined. It’s like, “illegal aliens”, what is there not to understand about the word “illegal”. People go to prison for doing things that are “illegal”, so what is there not to understand.
The definitions in this list are taken from either, or both of, The Vines Complete Expository Dictionary and/or the Funk&Wagnalls New International dictionary.

You can argue with me, but can you argue with a word, God’s word?

1. Abomination-loathsome, detestable thing. Strong aversion or loathing; extreme disgust and hatred. Anything that excites disgust, hatred, or loathing;any detestable act or practice; anything vile or shamefully wicked. Something or someone as essentially unique in the sense of being “dangerous”, “sinister,” and “repulsive” to another individual.
When used with reference to God, this nuance of the word describes people, things, acts, relationships, and characteristics that are “detestable” to Him because they are contrary to His nature. People with habits loathsome to God are themselves detestable to Him.

2. Reprobate-Abandoned in sin; lost to all sense of duty; utterly depraved; profligate. One lost to all sense of duty or decency; one abandoned to depravity of doom. In the bible, of persons, Rom. 1:28, of “Reprobate mind,” a mind of which God cannot approve, and which must be rejected by Him, the effect of refusing ” to have God in their knowledge; where the RV rightly translates the adjective “reprobate” (KJV “reprobates”), here the reference is a great test as to whether Christ is in a person; in Tim. 3:8 of those “reprobate concerning the faith,” i.e., men whose moral sense is perverted and whose minds are beclouded with their own speculations.; in Titus 1:16, of the defiled, who are “unto every good work reprobate,” i.e., if they are put to the test in regard to any good work (in contrast to their profession), they can only be rejected.

3. Sin-A lack of conformity to, or transgression, especially when deliberate, of a law, precept, of principle regarded as having Devine authority. The state or condition of having thus transgressed; wickedness.
Sinned- To commit sin, transgress, neglect, or disregard the divine law or any requirement of right, duty, or propriety; do wrong.
The definition of “Sin,” in the Vine’s is the same, but with much more detail as pertaining to the actual Scriptures in the bible. It’s Worth the read.

These three words I belive, are some of the most rejected, denied, wrested, and even hated words in the bible, even by those who are of the household of faith. Like every Word in the bible they will not change. You can neither take them away, or their meaning. And if you disregard them, they will still hold true to the scriptures, and you/we will still be subject to the consequences of their definition. This is true for the believer and the unbeliever.

Scriptures for life:

Proverbs 28:5, 10, 15-16, and23.

The scriptures state in I Peter 4:17, ” For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God”?

So What’s in a word? You decide. Also in this list is a list of scriptures, since The Word of God is “The Word”, these words will be more important than all other words, so read them and live

This list will be updated on a periodic bases.

The Voice behind Phinehas Javelin

There you have it, next to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as for as I am concerned, one of the most inspirational stories in the bible. Let there be no mistaking that for myself the voice of Phinehas’s javelin, Jesus is the greatest Man to become deliverer of humanity to ever and still live.
There were many other great men and woman throughout the sixty six books of the bible that did great note whorty things, but for me personally, this story of Phinehas has become a battle cry in my latter years to action as I witness the continuing down fall of society, starting with the church that Christ died for first.
As a Christian, saved twenty three years ago, Pastor, Husband, father, and grandfather, I take what is happening to the church very seriously. To sit by and whatch it’s deteriation take place and not do or say anything is against everything I believe in. I Peter 4:17a, states,”For the time is come that judgement must begin at the house of God:” and this judgement will be on all who have made the profession of faith and then lived life with no faith.
You see, even though Jesus had not died for the sins of humanity yet, there was the Law which was a shadow of things to come, so Zimri, in our story, had no exscuse for the rebellion he showed to Moses and the others who were weeping for their own disobedience. His fate as a child of Isreal, and that of Cozbi, the Midianitish woman, will be the fate of any unrepentant Christian (sinner), and unbelieving, (that is in Jesus Christ as Lord and savior),person.
My name is David G. Grogan Sr., and as the Founder, Voice, and Chief Editor of Phinehas’s javelin, of Which the Word of God is, it is my prayerful intention to just tell the truth, and that according to the Word Of God. St. John 8:32 ” And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
We WILL speak again soon.

Zealous for my God

Hello all,
For my first post, I would like to start off with a story from our Biblical History. After it’s posting, I will introduce myself to you. Here’s the story.
Numbers 25:1-13
1.And Isreal abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of moab.
2. And they called the people unto the sacrifice of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.
3. And Isreal joined himself unto Baal-peor: and the anger of the Lord was kindled against Isreal.
4. And the Lord said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the Lord against the sun, that the fierce anger of the Lord may be turned away from Isreal.
5. And Moses said unto the judges pd Isreal, Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baal-peor.
6. And, Behold one of the children of Isreal came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight od Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Isreal, who were weeping befor the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
7. And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from the congregation,and took a javelin in his hand;
8. And he went after the man of Isreal into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Isreal, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Isreal.
9. And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.
10. And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
11. Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Isreal, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Isresl in jealousy.
12. Wherefore ssay, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace:
13. And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God, and made atonement for the children of Isreal.
